Flodesk – Breaking Down My Tech Stack

FLODESK – BREAKING DOWN MY TECH STACK

Today, I’m giving you a behind-the-scenes look at exactly how I use Flodesk to create beautiful emails, automate my funnels, build relationships, and yep,  drive sales while sipping Diet Coke in my sweats. Let’s get into it!

WHY I CHOSE FLODESK

So first, let’s talk about the obvious,  why Flodesk?

Because listen, I’ve tried them all. Mailchimp. ConvertKit. ActiveCampaign. And while they each have their pros, Flodesk stole my little pretty emails and automation-loving heart. Why? Because it’s clean, it’s simple, it’s beautifully designed and I don’t need a tech degree or a 47-tab YouTube tutorial to use it.

Plus, they don’t charge by how many people are on your list, which means you can grow your list without growing your bill. A win for your inbox and your wallet.

And let’s be honest it’s the Canva of email. Drag, drop, boom,  you’ve got emails that look like a professional designer made them, even if you whipped them up while watching Netflix. Flodesk is easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy, and I am here for it.

HOW I USE FLODESK — LET’S BREAK IT DOWN

Alright, let’s get into the juicy stuff. Here’s how I actually use Flodesk in my business, day to day, week to week.

1. Welcome Sequence Automation

First up: the welcome sequence. This is the automation that rolls out the red carpet when someone joins my email list. Whether they grabbed a freebie, signed up for a workshop, or joined my membership waitlist, they all get a warm, automated hello from me.

Inside Flodesk, I have multiple workflows set up depending on what they opted into. And  once it’s built, it runs on autopilot. I’m talking instant value, nurture, and even soft-selling built right in.

Think of it like digital hospitality. They get a taste of what I do, how I help, and most importantly,  how I can help them. And because Flodesk makes it so dang easy to duplicate and customize workflows, I can spin up a new one in minutes whenever I launch something new.

2. Weekly Emails to Stay Connected

Now let’s talk about consistency. I use Flodesk to send weekly emails to my list. Sometimes it’s a value-packed tip about automation or systems, other times it’s behind-the-scenes tea from my business or a client win.

And here’s a little tip: I treat these like mini blog posts. I want people to look forward to opening my emails. I even have fun with subject lines because who says business emails have to be boring? Spoiler alert: they don’t.

In Flodesk, I can build these emails quickly using my saved templates. I have a few go-to formats: one for storytelling, one for tips or trainings, and one for promo-style announcements. I just plug in my content, tweak the visuals, and schedule it to go.

And boom, inbox magic.

3. Sales Funnels & Launch Sequences

Okay, this is where Flodesk goes from good to game-changing,  my sales funnels.

Whenever I’m promoting a new offer, like my business membership or a course, I use Flodesk to build out the full email funnel. I write the whole sequence: nurture, educate, pitch, handle objections, and testimonials.

I drop it all into a Flodesk workflow, map out the timing,  and then let it do the selling for me. It’s like having a full-time sales team.

And because Flodesk lets me segment my list (more on that in a sec), I can send the right message to the right people. No more blasting everyone with everything. We’re smarter than that.

4. List Building with Forms & Landing Pages

Now, you can’t email people if you don’t have people — so let’s talk about list building.

Flodesk has built-in forms and landing pages that I use to collect email addresses. Whether it’s a pop-up on my website, a full landing page for a freebie, or a simple embedded form — it’s all in one place.

I’ve created opt-ins for lead magnets, waitlists, webinar registrations, you name it. And once someone signs up, Flodesk drops them right into the right workflow with tags, so it’s organized and hands-free for me.

A few of my best-performing freebies? My “Automate Your Week” checklist, a sales funnel blueprint, and a juicy list of content prompts. (IYKYK.)

PART 3: HOW FLODESK FITS INTO MY BUSINESS SYSTEM

So how does Flodesk fit into my bigger business ecosystem?

It’s a key piece of the automation puzzle. I use it alongside tools like Kajabi for course hosting, Airtable for tracking, and Acuity for scheduling.

Think of Flodesk as the voice that follows up. It checks in. It delivers the content. It educates and nurtures, all without me needing to remember who to message or when.

It also gives me data such as:  open rates, click rates, what’s resonating and what’s flopping. And that helps me improve every launch, every sequence, every email.

PART 4: MY FLODESK TIPS FOR YOU

Let me leave you with a few quick Flodesk tips if you’re just getting started:

✅ Batch your content – Write several emails at once and schedule them out. Save that mental energy.

✅ Use segmentation wisely – Tag based on interests, purchases, or opt-ins. This lets you send hyper-relevant emails and boost your results.

✅ Keep it simple – Flodesk makes emails pretty, but don’t overthink it. One clear message per email, one clear CTA.

✅ Track what works – Check those analytics and tweak accordingly. Small shifts = big results.

✅ Use workflows – Set them up once and let them run forever. Automate the nurture. Automate the conversion.
